Amibe’s WordPress version has been updated from 4.9.x to 5.0.x – this means ALL Amibe websites are now using WordPress 5.0.x.

Version 5.0 was released early December and the most recent version is 5.0.3, with 5.1 in beta testing and due for release towards the end of February 2019.

The most notable change for editors and administrators of Amibe websites is the new editor, for now referred to as Gutenberg.

While we love using Gutenberg and are very excited about its future potential for building and maintaining websites there can be a little confusion between Gutenberg and Elementor.

Our recommendation for now is to consider that Gutenberg will meet 80% of your requirements, primarily for posts, and that Elementor will be the exception used for layouts and pages where greater design control is needed. More on this to come in a future Amibe Doc.

Another possible confusion is that Gutenberg is not always used as the editor, reverting back to what is now known as the Classic editor. WooCommerce products is one example where the Classic editor is still used.
